We had the opportunity to travel to New York City this past weekend after a testimonial shoot for Eyefinity, a division of Vision Service Plan (VSP).  Eyefinity works to support independing eye care providers with resources and services.  The testimonials were conducted at the 2008 Vision Expo East which was a huge convention at the Javits Center.  New York was a sight to see and we even had the opportunity to visit the store of B&H Photo Video which just happened to be a block from our hotel. 

While at B&H, we are excited to announce that we purchased an 18' foot JonyJib which we can now utilize on high-end shoots for added quality and value.  We will also be able to rent this out to other television production companies.

Most of the SIMZ full time crew spent three days in Reno last weekend at the Grand Sierra Casino.  Although we did a little gambling ourselves, we spent most of the time following three poker players around for an upcoming reality series that they hope to shop around to some networks.  The show features three "regular guys" who are grinding it out playing poker. 

When we returned to the Sacramento area, we found out that we had been listed in the Top 25 Video Production Companies in Sacramento in the Sacramento Business Journal.  The listing included big contenders that have been around for many years such as KVIE, Pacsat, and California Image Associates.  The many companies listed offered a huge range of services considered video production from DVD duplication to legal depositions to television production.  We ranked 20th which we felt was impressive for our young company - we hope to have the opportunity next year to showcase our growing business.
