Current News

 January 2009

2009 marks the beginning of our fifth year in the video and television production business.  SIMZ worked on nearly 150 video/TV productions in 2008. From serving as crew for other companies to producing a television series, we participated in a wide range of projects that both inspired and challenged. We're proud to have had steady growth over the past four years and hope to continue expanding our company's resources and abilities.  The end of '08 and early '09 have marked the completion of a few projects that we're extra proud of.   First, we had the opportunity to work on a project with PRIDE Industries to produce three videos for the Sacramento-area Kaiser Permanente group.  Each birthday year, kids in the region will receive a card from their doctor, along with a video about staying healthy.  Click here to view a montage of the three projects we developed.

We also had the pleasure of working with Parallax, a Rocklin-based company that designs and manufactures microcontroller development tools (among other things!). We produced a number of videos for their website to highlight their state of the art products.   Finally, we have just completed the first of two videos for PRIDE Industries.  We spent two days shooting footage of their dynamic manufacturing facility in Roseville, implementing use of our 18' jib and track.  Click here to check out the results!

Open House Extravaganza!

SIMZ had the pleasure of hosting clients, friends, family and prospective clients at our Open House on Thursday, January 22nd!  The event featured catering by Fran Bishop, acoustic music with Sana and Terry, tours of the facility and generally a great time.  Over 100 people came through our doors to check out the new digs and learn more about the company, the facility and what we're all about!  Check out a few photos here to find people you know!

Marketing in Tough Times

Although everyone's getting off to a bit of a rough start in 2009, SIMZ wants to be your resource for  improving your bottom line with a reasonable investment. In slower economic times, marketing is key to ensuring that your name and brand stay at the forefront of consumers' minds.  Internet videos are a great way to market your services and products to a massive audience - whether it be on your company's website, or on a broader scope such as YouTube, Facebook or MySpace. We can also produce your television commercials, training videos, and more!  We also know some great folks in the design, print and marketing industries to help you develop a well-rounded plan to keeping your business busy throughout 2009.

Music to My Ears

SIMZ produced a music video titled "More Than This" last November for Phil Putnam, a talented lyricist and musician who hails from Sacramento but recently made the move to the Big Apple.  The video has been featured on MTV/LOGO's Click List and your vote will help keep Phil's video at the top of the list!  Visit the site today and click on "More Than This" to support Phil!

November 2008

Hi from the SIMZ Productions Team!

Welcome to Autumn! As winter begins settling in, we are also settling into our new location on X Street!
We love to start our newsletter with showcasing some of our work.  First, check out Endicia!  Endicia provides online postal solutions through the USPS.  They were looking for a series of industrial videos - some to serve as testimonials of their product, and also a video to highlight the cost savings that the company provides.  Check out their site to see the videos!
We recently worked on a project for a company that was contracted by Clorox's advertising agency to shoot some "natural" videos about their new product line, GreenWorks.  It wasn't our typical polished corporate video, nor was it a high-paced TV commercial.  The premise of the project was "30 Days to Natural" with MaryRose out of Chico, as she chronicled her switch (some video footage is her own!) from mainstream cleaning products to more green products and a more green way of living.  MaryRose was a sweetheart to work with and the videos can be seen all over the internet! Visit the website now and click on Diaries - > MaryRose,CA.

Studio! Studio! Studio!

SIMZ is extremely excited about our new Sacramento production studio space!  Our goal is to provide a comfortable, state-of-the-art production experience for our clients.  We're expanding our client base by not only providing full service video production, but also by offering affordable television/video production studio space for other video and television companies to RENT.  Our smaller studio is already being used consistently and has a beautiful chroma-key cyclorama (curved wall) - we can paint it any color for that infiinte space look for your production!  And we're cranking away on building out our larger studio.  We've hung the lighting grid and already had a few shoots in the space, but still have some additional sound-proofing to do.  Eventually, we'd like to build a cyclorama in this room too, so stay tuned!

Face Lift on X Street - SIMZ Makes Big Changes

Since we moved to our new space in June, we've been working hard not only on our studios, but on the entire building.  We've stained floors, painted the entire interior, installed a bar, replaced flooring, re-modeled the bathroom, and more!  Contact us for photos or come to our open house (see below)!
